Step-by-Step Insertion Guide
1. Wash your hands: Always clean your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after handling a tampon.
2. Unwrap the tampon: Remove the tampon from its plastic wrapper and check how the SmoothTouch plastic applicator works.
• The applicator has a larger outer tube (barrel) holding the tampon.
• An anti-slip grip area in the middle.
• A smaller inner tube (plunger/pusher) at the end where the removal string hangs out.
3. Get comfortable: Sit on the toilet, stand with a slight squat, or prop one foot up on a raised surface. Take a deep breath to relax your muscles.
4. Position the applicator: Hold the applicator firmly by the anti-slip grip (between your thumb and middle/index finger).
5. Aim at the right angle: Place the rounded tip of the applicator at your vaginal opening and aim slightly toward your lower back (not straight up) to match your body's natural angle.
6. Insert the barrel: Gently slide the outer tube of the applicator into your vagina until your fingers on the anti-slip grip reach your body.
7. Release the tampon: Use your index finger to push the inner plunger all the way into the outer tube until it stops. This places the tampon inside.
8. Remove the applicator: Gently pull the plastic applicator (both tubes) out of your body, leaving only the clean string hanging outside your vulva. Throw the used plastic applicator and wrapper into the bin (do not flush them)
